Tiwai Island
Rainforest island, eleven primate species
A protected wildlife sanctuary on the Moa River in the Gola rainforest belt — pygmy hippos, eleven primate species including the rare Diana monkey, and forest walks led by guides from the communities who co-manage the reserve. With Gola Rainforest National Park, it is part of Sierra Leone's first UNESCO World Heritage Site (July 2025).
